Over the years, I've seen a number of different ways to prepare hard boiled eggs. I don't remember them all. But I seem to have stuck with boiling them for 10 minutes. Who cares, as long as they are cooked, eh?
With the internet at my fingertips, I have found the way to cook hard boiled eggs that is going to be the only way I cook hard boiled eggs from this point on. As easy as:
- Plop your eggs in a pot, careful not to crack them
- Cover eggs with cold water (make water level 1 inch above eggs)
- Bring to a boil
- Once boiling, time for 1 minute (that's right- only sixty seconds)
- After one minute of boiling, remove from heat and cover
- After ten minutes has passed, drain water
- Give eggs an icy blast of cold water (I like to repeat this step until all my eggs are peeled, they peel like a knife slicing through hot butter)
